EP Grigio Zincante Primer L is a high-performance epoxy powder coating designed to serve as an anti-corrosive primer for ferrous substrates. Its robust formulation significantly enhances corrosion resistance, prepares surfaces for multilayer coating cycles, and masks processing defects. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications when paired with the appropriate topcoat from the Ecopolifix series.

• Chemical Composition: Solid epoxy resins, hardeners, additives, and pigments.
• Application: Primer or anti-corrosive primer for ferrous substrates.
• Surface Aspect: Smooth glossy finish.
• Particle Size Distribution: 16% > 63 microns.
• Specific Gravity: 2.7 - 2.9 g/cm³.
• Gloss: 65 +/- 5 gloss (60°) ISO 2813-78.
• Curing Conditions:
  • As Finish Coat: 180°C for 20 minutes
  • As Primer: 150°C for 20 minutes

Storage Stability:
Stable for at least 24 months when stored in dry conditions at temperatures below 35°C.

Application Guidelines:

1. Surface Preparation: Ensure metal surfaces are clean, free from greases, oils, rust, and any material that could affect adhesion. For best performance on ferrous substrates, sandblasting is recommended.
2. Application Methods: Use manual or automatic Corona guns with an H.V. generator or Triboelectric guns.
3. Application Thickness: Recommended average thickness is 80 microns.

• Outdoor Resistance: 5 months - chalking
• Q.U.V: 80 hours – 50% gloss loss
• Chemical Resistance: Unaffected by various acids and bases, with light softening under certain solvents.

• Multilayer Paint Guide:
  • Pre-treat the metal surface.
  • Apply primer at 80 microns thickness.

  • Fully cross-link multilayer system as per TDS.
